FORT LAUDERDALE — A parent is suing the Amateur Athletic Union of the United States Inc., USA Diving Inc. and the City of Coral Springs for alleged negligence.

Christina Lambard filed a complaint on June 12 in the Broward County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendants failed to provide a safe environment for their invitees.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she enrolled her minor child in a swimming and diving camp organized by the defendants on July 27, 2015. The plaintiff claims that the defendants told her that her daughter would never be left unsupervised because of her special needs. The special child, however, was allegedly left to play alone on a trampoline and was later discovered to have landed on her back on the concrete floor. The plaintiff alleges that her daughter suffered physical, psychological and emotional injuries.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to employ sufficiently trained personnel to assist, instruct and supervise invitees and campers, and for failing to ensure that the trampoline was rigged with safety equipment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants for all damages plus costs and other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Bradford M. Cohen and Jason A. Jovine of Cohen & McMullen PA in Fort Lauderdale.
