Capitol Preferred Insurance Company Inc. accused of breach of contract

ORLANDO — A Florida resident is suing Capitol Preferred Insurance Company Inc. for alleged breach of contract.

Rose Ann Thompson-Abbott filed a complaint on June 21 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered monetary damages on May 31 when the defendant failed to provide insurance benefits for her damaged property, which allegedly was covered by the policy. 

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to pay or reimburse all of the plaintiff’s damages and honor its contractual obligations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all unpaid and overdue insurance benefits with interest, costs, attorney's fees and for all other remedies the court sees fit to grant.
