Southern Fidelity Property & Casualty Inc. accused of breach of contract

Contract 01

ORLANDO — A homeowner is suing Southern Fidelity Property & Casualty Inc. for alleged breach of contract.

Monica Reyna filed a complaint on June 21 in the Orange County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant breached its duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her insured property suffered a covered loss on April 8, 2013 due to a roof leak. Though the defendant allegedly was given timely notice of the damages and allegedly acknowledge coverage, it allegedly rejected the total amount of damages.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly refusing to honor its contractual obligations and failing to pay for the covered loss.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant plus costs, pre-judgment interest and attorneys fees. She is represented by Gregory Saldamando of Strems Law Firm in Coral Gables.
