ORLANDO – The owners of an Ocoee home allege their insurer wrongfully denied their property damage claim.
Byron and Kimberly Westerfield filed a complaint on June 14, in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Security First Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in July 2016, they suffered extensive roof damage of their insured property as a result of wind and/or hail. They allege the defendant wrongfully denied and/or underpaid their claim.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against defendant for compensatory damages, interest, costs and attorney’s fees. They are represented by Derek Metts of Metts Legal PA in Winter Park.
