FORT LAUDERDALE – An insurance company and two condo owners are seeking damages from three individuals after water damaged the condo.
Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Co., as assignee of Alexei Flit and Marina Le Flit, filed a complaint on June 7 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Michael and Bella Dubrovsky and Alfred Teitelbaum alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, the Flits own a condominium in Hallandale Beach. On March 2, 2015, the suit states that Teitelbaum entered the Dubrovksy's residence for the purpose of shutting of the water while it was vacant. The Flits allege that Teitelbaum manipulated the control valve for the water line for the air conditioning unit and broke it, causing water to damage the Flit property.
Universal states that it paid $21,000 to the Flits to cover property damages and other related expenses and the Flits allege they paid a $1,000 deductible.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for damages in the sum of $22,000, together with costs, prejudgment interest and other relief the court may deem just.
