Olympus Insurance Co. alleged to have failed to make decision on claim

Insurance 11

FORT LAUDERDALE – The owners of a Pembroke Pines property claim that their insurer has failed to acknowledge coverage for a loss.

Dustin Mounce and Gloria Sequiro filed a complaint on June 6 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Olympus Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on May 5, 2017, plaintiffs' insured property sustained a covered loss as a result of an accidental discharge of water from the plumbing system. The suit states that the defendant failed to make a determination of coverage within 90 days and effectively denied coverage.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant, declaratory relief, costs, attorney's fees, and further relief as the court deems just. They are represented by Thomas J. Morgan of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
