Neilson Enterprises Inc. files suit against St. Johns Insurance Co. over allegedly unpaid bills

Insurance 08

ORLANDO – A company hired by a property owner to conduct repairs alleges an insurance company has not reimbursed it for the work.

Neilson Enterprises Inc., doing business as Orlando Roofing Co., as assignee of Yessi Rodriguez, filed a complaint on June 12 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against St. Johns Insurance Co. Inc. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 3, 2017, Rodriguez's property was damaged by a water event and that Neilson was contracted for the repairs. Neilson alleges it submitted bills and/or estimates to the defendant, which have been unpaid or underpaid.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all unpaid bills with interest on any overdue payments, costs, attorney's fees and for all other remedies the court sees fit to grant. They are represented by Jordan T. Mejeur of Cohen Grossman Attorneys At Law in Maitland.
