Man alleges brother developed injuries because of poor care at Egret Cove Center

CLEARWATER – A brother alleges his sibling was not given proper care while at a skilled, long-term nursing care facility.

Jessie Jones III, as executor de son tort of James A. Jones, filed a complaint on June 2, in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Heartstone Senior Communities Inc. and Egret Cove Rehabilitation Center LLC, doing business as Egret Cove Center alleging violation of resident's rights.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that his decedent and brother James Jones developed severe contractures and pressure sores due to poor care, neglect and abuse of the defendants. The plaintiff holds Heartstone Senior Communities Inc. and Egret Cove Rehabilitation Center LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly breached their duties to provide adequate and appropriate health care and services in a safe and beneficial manner.

The plaintiff seeks damages of more than $15,000, plus costs and interest and such other and further relief. He is represented by Frank E. Fernandez III of The Fernandez Firm in Tampa, Florida.
