Alron Construction seeks coverage of property damages from Universal Property & Casualty

Insurance 11

ORLANDO – A construction company alleges that an insurer refused to cover damages to an Orlando property.

Alron Construction LLC, as assignee of Julio Herrera, filed a complaint on June 6 in the Orange Circuit Court against Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, Herrera's property was damaged by wind, hail and water and that Herrera had a policy through the defendant at the time of the loss. The suit states Herrera sought reimbursement from the defendant for the loss and that he has not been fully compensated by the defendant. The plaintiff alleges it is a direct beneficiary of the contract with the defendant.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for all covered losses with interest on any overdue payments, attorney's fees and costs. They are represented by Katie S. Monroe of Hale, Hale & Jacobson PA in Orlando.
