Former Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ bartender alleges she is owed unpaid wages

Law money 10

ORLANDO – A Miami woman has filed a suit against her former employer alleging that it improperly applied a tip credit.

Carrie Comendeiro filed a complaint on June 6 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Big Pig I Inc., doing business as Bubbalou's Bodacious BBQ, alleging violation of the Florida Minimum Wage Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendant as a bartender from September 2014 to August 2016. The plaintiff holds Big Pig I Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay her a wage equal to or greater than minimum wage and unjustly benefited by saving the tip credit amount for each hour plaintiff worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, compensation for unpaid wages, liquidated damages, interest, attorney’s fees and costs of action. She is represented by Tammy Hammack-Barber of Cohen Grossman, Attorneys At Law in Maitland.
