Wrongful term 07

ORLANDO – A Kissimmee man alleges that his former Maitland employer terminated in retaliation for seeking workers' compensation.

Erick Felicien filed a complaint on June 5 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Skanska-Granite-Lane A Joint Venture alleging retaliatory discharge.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 17, he was discharged by the defendant in retaliation for seeking workers' compensation benefits for injury he sustained while performing his job. As a result of defendant's alleged wrongful conduct, he claims he suffered damages including past and future lost wages, loss of employment benefits, mental anguish and loss of enjoyment of life.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages against defendant, court costs, prejudgment interest and any other relief the court deems necessary. He is represented by Jesse Rowe of Van Dingenen Law in Winter Park and Christopher Turner of Christopher R. Turner PLLC in Orlando.
