Palm Harbor Publix shopper claims she was injured after slipping in store

CLEARWATER – A Holiday woman alleges that she was injured in a Palm Harbor store because of a slippery floor.

Patricia S. Burney filed a complaint on May 26 in the 6th Judicial Circuit of Florida - Pinellas County against Publix Supermarkets Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 16, 2014, she was a customer at defendant's store in Palm Harbor when she slipped and fell on a slippery floor in the produce section. The plaintiff alleges she sustained bodily injuries resulting in pain and suffering, loss of capacity to enjoy life, mental anguish and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff holds Publix Supermarkets Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct the defective, dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount of more than $15,000, costs of this suit and such other relief to which plaintiff is justly entitled. She is represented by Nicholas D. Roebig Jr., Shaun M. Cummings, Nicholas S. Tolentino, Luca G. Esposito, Chase P. Florin and Chad K. Florin of Florin Roebig PA in Palm Harbor.
