Couple claims American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida didn't adequately indemnity them for property damage

Insurance 06

ORLANDO – The owners of an Orlando property claim that their insurer failed to adequately cover damages to the property.

Michael and Benita Goldblatt filed a complaint on June 5 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Jan. 22, 2017, their property sustained a covered loss as a result of wind and/or wind-driven rain. They allege that the defendants failed to adequately indemnify them for the loss.

The plaintiffs hold American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida responsible because the defendant allegedly breached the contract by failing to tender an appropriate amount to repair their property.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages, plus interest, court costs and attorneys’ fees. They are represented by Louis A. Gonzalez of Trujillo Vargas Gonzalez & Hevia LLP in Orlando.
