FORT LAUDERDALE – A Coconut Creek property owner alleges her insurer wrongfully denied her claim for water damages.
Marcia Rodrigues filed a complaint on May 25 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Florida Peninsula Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 4, 2015, her property, which was insured under a homeowner's insurance policy, sustained a covered loss caused by water. The suit states the defendant denied coverage in February 2016.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor for damages, interest, costs and legal fees and further relief deemed to be fair by the court. She is represented by David A. Comras of Law Offices of Comras & Comras PA in Fort Lauderdale.
