Homeowner seeks damages from American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida for water damage

Insurance 01

ORLANDO – A homeowner has filed suit against his insurer after it allegedly failed to pay a requested amount for repairs to his property.

Mourad Bouhallaf filed a complaint on May 23 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 19, 2015, his insured Orlando property was damaged directly and/or indirectly by water due to an opening in the roofing system. The plaintiff holds American Integrity Insurance Co. of Florida responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to establish that it had reasonable proof that it was not responsible for the payment of plaintiff’s damages and/or loss, and has failed to pay the requested amounts for repairs and/or replacements.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees costs and other relief that the court deems just. He is represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
