Man files suit against Brasfield & Gorrie LLC, Quinco Electrical Inc. after tripping on cord

ORLANDO – A security guard for the Orlando VA Medical Center alleges he was injured by equipment left out by construction crews.

Luis Gonzalez filed a complaint on May 24 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Brasfield & Gorrie LLC and Quinco Electrical Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the defendants were performing construction work at the Orlando property where the defendant worked as a security guard. The plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 24, 2015, while he was doing patrol duties of his work area, he tripped and fell on an exposed electrical cord that was being used by Quinco and was injured.

The plaintiff holds Brasfield & Gorrie LLC and Quinco Electrical Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain and inspect the construction zone and failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous area.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs. He is represented by Lina M. Lopez of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
