FORT LAUDERDALE – Owners of a Deerfield Beach home alleged their insurer breached the terms of a policy when it failed to fully cover a loss.

Robin Markarian and Michael J. Miller filed a complaint on May 18 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County against Anchor Property & Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 20, 2016, while their property was insured under a homeowner's insurance policy, it sustained a covered loss for water damage. However, despite efforts of plaintiffs to furnished timely notice of covered loss, the defendant allegedly refused to pay the full value of the loss.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees and costs and further relief that the court may deem just. They are represented by Franchesca Marrero-Rodriguez of JP Gonzalez-Sirgo PA in Coral Gables.
