Property owner seeks coverage for damages from Olympus Insurance Co.

Insurance 04

ORLANDO – A property owner alleges her insurer failed to indemnify her for the losses sustained to the property.

Evelyn Lewis filed a complaint on May 15 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Olympus Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 22, while her property was insured under a homeowners insurance policy through the defendant, it sustained a covered loss as a result of wind and/or wind-driven rain. The plaintiff claims that the defendant has not properly admitted coverage for the loss and there is a disagreement regarding the repairs needed to restore the property.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, for damages, plus interest, court costs and attorneys’ fees. She is represented by Louis A. Gonzalez and Zaf Glenn Goss of Trujillo Vargas Gonzalez & Hevia LLP in Orlando.
