Polk County passenger accuses motorist of negligence after Orlando crash

ORLANDO – A Polk County resident is seeking more than $15,000 in damages for injuries he alleges he received in an accident in Orlando.

Hale Guardado-Mata filed a complaint on May 11 in 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Michael Hale alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 7, he was a passenger in a vehicle traveling near the intersection of International Drive and Interstate 4 in Orlando when the defendant struck that vehicle. The plaintiff alleges he suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more than $15,000, costs, and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Melodie J. Lopez of Lopez & Humphries PA in Lakeland.
