Man claims St. Johns Insurance Co. breached contract with claim

ORLANDO – An Orlando property over claims his insurer failed to pay him for damages to his home.

Mario Valencia filed a complaint on May 11 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against St. Johns Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 26, 2016, his property sustained damage by a covered peril. However, despite efforts of plaintiff to furnished timely notice of covered loss to the defendant and has performed all obligations precedent to recover under the policy, the defendant allegedly has yet to pay either part or all of plaintiff's claim. 

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant for unpaid and overdue insurance benefits, plus interest, costs, attorney's fees and all other remedies the court sees fit. He is represented by Ana Cristina Torres of Cohen Grossman, Attorneys At Law in Maitland.
