CLEARWATER – A homeowner alleges her Dunedin property was damaged and that her insurer failed to pay her claim.

Kelly Gaunt filed a complaint on May 2 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against First Community Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her property was insured under a homeowners insurance policy and sustained a covered loss. However, despite efforts of plaintiff to comply with all post-loss obligations, the defendant allegedly has refused to pay the claim.

The plaintiff holds First Community Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly obligated plaintiff to retain and pay for the services of a legal counsel to represent and protect her interest.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against defendant, declaratory judgment, attorney's fees and costs. She is represented by Robert B. Dehne of The Nation Law Firm LLP in Longwood.
