WorldQuest Resort allegedly failed to maintain safe premises, leading to fall, injuries

Slip01

ORLANDO — A couple is suing Ashford TRS WQ LLC d/b/a World Quest Resort a/k/a WorldQuest Orlando Resort, alleging negligence for plaintiff's slip and fall last year.

Frances and Gabriel Barone filed a complaint on May 1 in the Orange County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that they failed to provide a reasonably safe environment for their business invitees.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that, on Oct. 2, 2016, Frances Barone sustained serious and permanent bodily injuries and was rendered permanently disabled as a result of the negligence of the defendant in allowing the presence of a slippery material along the entryway of its premises that caused her to slip and fall. Additionally, Gabriel Barone has suffered the loss of his wife's care, comfort and consortium.

The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to warn patrons of prior incidents arising from the same condition and failed to implement procedures and safeguards to protect patrons.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for damages in excess of $15,000, interest and costs. They are represented by Anthony J. Manganiello III of Icard, Merrill, Cullis, Timm, Furen & Ginsburg PA in Sarasota.
