CLEARWATER – Parents allege a negligently maintained playground caused injuries to their minor child.

Jennifer Wheeler and Jason Wheeler, as natural parents of Addison Wheeler, a minor filed a complaint on May 1 in the Pinellas Circuit Court against Joe's Crab Shack LLC and Clant Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on April 17, 2015, plaintiffs' minor child was playing on the playground maintained by the defendants in Clearwater when she slipped and fell. The child allegedly suffered mental anguish and physical pain. The plaintiffs hold Joe's Crab Shack LLC and Clant Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain the playground equipment in a safe and reasonable condition and failed to warn of the latent or unrevealed dangers of the property.

The plaintiffs seek damages of more than $15,000, plus interest and costs of this action. They are represented by Eduardo R. Latour of Latour & Associates PA in Tarpon Springs.
