CLEARWATER – A woman alleges her insurer failed or refused to pay comprehensive benefits to her after her car was stolen.

Monique Dandy filed a complaint on April 26 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Progressive Select Insurance Co., formerly known as Progressive Auto Pro Insurance Co., seeking declaratory judgment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 11, her vehicle was stolen and subsequently destroyed. Although plaintiff was entitled to receive comprehensive coverage from the defendant for her insured vehicle under a policy of insurance with the defendant, it allegedly refused to pay for comprehensive coverage.

The plaintiff seeks declaration of coverage against the defendant, plus attorneys' fees and costs. She is represented by Daniella Rivera and Brad Salter of Salter Healy LLC in St. Petersburg.
