Former employee files suit against House of Glass Inc. alleging he was not paid overtime rate

Law money 10

ORLANDO – An Osceola County resident alleges his former Orlando employer did not compensate him at the correct rate for overtime work.

Giovanni Correa filed a complaint on April 14 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against House of Glass Inc. alleging that the defendant violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between May 2015 and November 2016, he worked in excess of 40 hours within a workweek. The plaintiff holds House of Glass Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay plaintiff overtime premiums for all of the overtime hours at a rate equal to one-and-one-half times his regular rate of pay.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks liquidated damages, prejudgment interest, costs, attorney's fees, and for such further relief as the court deems just and equitable. He is represented by Brandon J. Hill of Wenzel Fenton Cabassa, PA in Tampa.
