Shopper alleges he tripped, fell because of electrical cord at Winn-Dixie

CLEARWATER – A Winn-Dixie shopper alleges he was injured at the Madeira Beach location.

John P. Wisely filed a complaint on April 24 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 3, 2016, he suffered bodily injury, inconvenience, disfigurement, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses as a result of the negligence of employees of the defendant to allow an electrical cord to protrude from one of is display cases, which caused plaintiff to trip and fall. 

The plaintiff holds Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn plaintiff about the existing dangers of the premises.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages of more than $15,000, interest, costs and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Matthew T. Rice of Rice Law Group PA in South Pasadena.
