Man alleges insurer refused to pay benefits after Orlando collision

ORLANDO – An Orlando motorist has filed suit against a Melbourne driver and his insurer alleging injuries.

Angelo L. Rodriguez filed a complaint on April 13 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Leah E. Ostroff and Amica Mutual Insurance Co. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 8, 2014, Ostroff collided into his vehicle on state Road 50 in Orlando. He alleges his injuries exceeded Ostroff's policy limits and that Amica refused to pay uninsured motorist benefits.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for damages of more $15,000, plus costs, and other relief as the court deem just. He is represented by Karl W. Labertew of Dan Newlin & Partners in Orlando.
