CLEARWATER – A consumer alleges that water damage to her St. Petersburg property should be covered by her insurance policy.

Brenda Marie Letts filed a complaint on April 6 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against United Property and Casualty Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 21, 2016, she sustained water damage to her insured property under a policy with the defendant. The suit states that the defendant evaluated the loss but declined to fully indemnify plaintiff for the value of the claim, despite the loss covered under the terms and conditions.

The plaintiff holds United Property and Casualty Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to fulfill its obligations under the agreement, and failed to fully cover losses under the policy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for property damages, attorney's fees, costs and interest. She is represented by Chad J. Robinson of Chad J. Robinson in Boca Raton.
