ORLANDO – The owner of an Orlando property claims her insurer failed to pay for water damage.
Tania Gelin filed a complaint on April 4 in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Orange County against Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 15, 2016, her property was damaged by a water leak that originated from the roof. The suit states the defendant refused to pay for covered losses despite timely notice given by plaintiff.
The plaintiff holds Liberty Mutual Fire Insurance Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to establish that it was not responsible for the payment of plaintiff’s damages and/or loss, and has failed to pay the requested amounts for repairs and/or replacement.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for damages, interest, attorney's fees, costs and other relief that the court deems just. She is represented by Thomas J. Morgan Jr. of Morgan Law Group PA in Coral Gables.
