CLEARWATER – A car rental company alleges a consumer failed to return the vehicle in the same condition it was when she received it.

The Hertz Corp. filed a complaint on March 27 in the 6th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Pinellas County against Mary Beth West alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 2, 2015, the defendant rented a car from the plaintiff. The suit states that when the defendant returned it, damages to the vehicle amounted to $12,116.14. The plaintiff holds West responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay for damages to the vehicle.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in the sum of $12,116.14, plus interest, costs and attorney's fees. It is represented by Jeff J. Ricke and Catharine D. Hanley of Hiday & Ricke PA in Jacksonville.
