ORLANDO – A law professor alleges he was discriminated against because of his sex.

Carlo Pedrioli filed a complaint on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against Barry University Inc. alleging employment and gender discrimination.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendant's law school dean accepted a recommendation to terminate him based on an isolated negative evaluation of one faculty member. He alleges his termination was pretextual.

The plaintiff holds Barry University Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected plaintiff to an unnecessary hostile work environment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in favor of plaintiff, back pay, declaratory relief, compensatory damages, costs, attorney's fees and other relief the court deems appropriate. He is represented by Martha A. Chapman in Orlando.
