Gilson's Brazilian Restaurant alleged to have not paid overtime wages

Law money 09

ORLANDO – A class action has been filed against an Orange County Brazilian restaurant over allegations it failed to pay overtime wages.

Guilherme Amorim filed a complaint on his own behalf and on behalf of others similarly situated on April 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division against GMR International Cuisine Inc., doing business as Gilson's Brazilian Restaurant, and Gilson Rodrigues alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff worked for the defendants from December 2013 to August 2016. The plaintiffs hold GMR International Cuisine Inc. and Rodrigues responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay plaintiff for overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants, payment of all overtime hours, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs incurred and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Carlos V. Leach of Morgan & Morgan PA in Orlando.
