ORLANDO – A disabled Broward County woman alleges she experienced discriminatory conditions at a Cocoa Beach motel.

Patricia Kennedy filed a complaint on March 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against Siesta Motel LLC and Fawlty Towers Inc. citing the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants' property has several non-compliant features that hinder accessibility to individuals with disabilities, such as doorways, grab bars, hardware, sinks and furniture.

The plaintiff holds Cape Siesta Motel LLC and Fawlty Towers Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to adhere to a policy to ensure that all goods, services and facilities are readily accessible to and usable by the disabled.

The plaintiff and seeks judgment against defendants, injunctive relief, attorney's fees, costs, litigation expenses, and other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Thomas B. Bacon of Thomas B. Bacon PA in Fort Lauderdale.
