MIAMI – A woman alleges she was not paid for overtime work.

Tameka Harvey filed a complaint on March 24 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against East Cypress Women's Center Inc. and Joan Weinstein citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was employed by the defendants from Feb. 6 to June 6, 2016. The plaintiff holds East Cypress Women's Center Inc. and Weinstein responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to pay the plaintiff for the 10 to 15 hours of overtime she worked per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, for all damages and relief under the FLSA, including liquidated damages and/or prejudgment interest, attorneys’ fees, costs, expenses, and all other relief the court deems just. She is represented by Chad E. Levy of Law Offices of Levy & Levy PA in Sunrise.
