Woman alleges she fell and was injured while trying to leave cruise ship

Cruise 05

MIAMI – A Michigan woman who traveled on the cruise ship the Norwegian Epic alleges she was injured by a crowd.

Joan Henderson filed a complaint on March 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against NCL (Bahamas) LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 10, 2016, she was a passenger aboard the vessel owned by the defendant when she suffered severe injuries from falling in an uncontrolled crowd while trying to disembark from the vessel. She alleges she endured physical pain, mental anguish, loss of enjoyment of life, disability, disfigurement, aggravation of any previously existing conditions, and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to take steps to identify hazards during disembarkation and failed to adequately instruct and control passengers regarding safe disembarkation.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all damages recoverable under the law against the defendant. She is represented by Jason R. Margulies and Carol L. Finklehoffe of Lipcon, Margulies, Alsina & Winkleman PA in Miami.
