MIAMI – A housekeeper alleges she was not paid a minimum wage by her Miami-Dade County employer.

Luz A Becerra Gutierrez filed a complaint on March 17 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Maria Granados alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked as a live-in housekeeper for the defendant from April 2009 to September 2016. The plaintiff holds Granados responsible because the defendant allegedly denied plaintiff of her right to receive at least minimum wages for every hour worked.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant, minimum wages still owing, double damages, attorney's fees, court costs, interest, and any other relief that the court finds reasonable. She is represented by J.H. Zidell of J.H. Zidell PA in Miami Beach.
