Maintenance workers allege Sunrise Lakes Phase III Recreation Association Inc. owes them unpaid overtime wages

FORT LAUDERDALE – Two Broward County maintenance workers allege they were not properly compensated for overtime work by their employers.

Anarda Rosales and Jorge Zepeda filed a complaint on behalf of individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated filed a complaint on March 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Fort Lauderdale Division against Sunrise Lakes Phase III Recreation Association Inc., Paul Gassen and Dorance Restrepo alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they regularly worked an average of 45-50 hours each week for the defendants. The plaintiffs holds Sunrise Lakes Phase III Recreation Association Inc., Gassen and Restrepo responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to compensate them at the rate of no less than one-and-one-half times their regular rate for all hours they worked over 40 per week.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees and costs and such other and further relief. They are represented by R. Edward Rosenberg of Sorondo Rosenberg Legal PA in Coral Gables.
