Norwegian Cruise Line passenger alleges she was injured because she wasn't assisted into a boat

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A woman alleges she was injured after falling between a life boat and a dock.

Dolores Mertz filed a complaint on March 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 16, 2016, she suffered physical injuries after falling between a dock and a life boat. The suit states the plaintiff was attempting to board the life boat to be transported back to the cruise ship from docks in the Virgin Islands. The plaintiff holds NCL (Bahamas) LTD, doing business as Norwegian Cruise Line, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to assist or provide the plaintiff safe means to board the lifeboat.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Adam Brum of Morgan & Morgan PA in St. Petersburg.
