Law money 04

MIAMI — A Miami-Dade County man is suing a local company, alleging unpaid wages, violation of workers compensation acts and wrongful termination.

Ronald Lara filed a complaint March 7 in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Industrial Management, Inc., and Rene Hernandez, alleging that they failed to pay fair wages.

According to the complaint, Lara worked as a laborer for more than 40 hours without being paid any overtime compensation as required by the Fair Labor Standards Act. The plaintiff alleges the defendants terminated his employment for requesting medical treatment after he was injured in a fall from a forklift May 6, 2016.

Lara seeks trial by jury, enjoin the defendant, unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, all legal fees, interest and all other relief the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Monica Espino of Espino Law in Miami.
