TAMPA – A Polk County employer is alleged to have not paid an employee for overtime work.

Laura Kappos filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida against BDA Management LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she worked for the defendant as a receptionist from February to September 2016, then as a treatment coordinator through November 2016. The plaintiff holds BDA Management LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to compensate plaintiff for all hours worked and failed to compensate plaintiff with increased salary as promised after a promotion.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant, unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, damages accrued in three years, attorneys' fees, costs, expenses, interest, and other relief to which they may be entitled. She is represented by James M. Loren of Law Offices of Goldberg & Loren PA in Plantation.
