Insurance 03

FORT LAUDERDALE – A former employee of Toyota Boshoku America claims her insurer wrongfully terminated her disability benefits.

Inez K. Satterfield filed a complaint on March 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against The Prudential Insurance Co. of America citing the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2012, she became disabled and was initially paid disability benefits until 2014 when the benefits were terminated. The plaintiff holds The Prudential Insurance Co. of America responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated plaintiff's disability benefits based on its claim that she no longer fit the definition of disabled according to the policy.

The plaintiff seeks pay disability benefits due to the plaintiff, reinstatement to the plan, all legal fees, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Alexander A. Palamara and Gregory Michael Dell of Attorneys Dell and Schaefer, Chartered in Hollywood.
