Man claims he was wrongfully terminated from his employment at Gyro & Pita LLC

Wrongful term 06

MIAMI – A former cook for a Greek restaurant alleges he was terminated in retaliation for complaining about unpaid wages.

Kevin Ricardo Morley Jr. filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Gyro & Pita LLC and Spyros Alexander Karavias citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was unlawfully terminated in December 2016 in retaliation for his complaints about unpaid overtime wages. The plaintiff holds Gyro & Pita LLC and Karavias responsible because the defendants allegedly did not pay him a minimum wage or pay a rate of time-and-one-half for overtime work.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay, front pay, lost benefits, liquidated damages, damages, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Elliot Kozolchyk of Koz Law PA in Fort Lauderdale.
