Alleged counterfeiters target of suit filed by Michael Kors

FORT LAUDERDALE – Michael Kors alleges several online retailers are selling counterfeit versions of its products.

Michael Kors LLC filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against aubagsoutlet.com, bagcutemodern.com, bagebuyshop.com, baghotonline.com, et al. alleging trademark infringement and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Michael Kors LLC suffered damages to its business and reputation. The plaintiff holds aubagsoutlet.com, bagcutemodern.com, bagebuyshop.com, baghotonline.com, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly sell counterfeit and similar imitations of the plaintiff's trademarks online.

The plaintiff seeks enjoin the defendants from further infringing plaintiff's trademark, order to transfer all domains used by the defendant to the plaintiff's control, pay profits and damages, treble damages, statutory damages of $2 million per each counterfeit mark, statutory damages of $100,000 per cybersquatted domain, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the court deems just.
