Royal Caribbean Cruises passenger alleges defective cabin door injured hand

Cruise 04

MIAMI – A cruise ship passenger claims he needed 11 stitches after his cabin door closed on his fingers.

Gerald Lutzker filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 11, 2016, he suffered physical injuries to his fingers, which needed stitches. The plaintiff holds Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to warn the plaintiff regarding the defective nature of the door inside his cabin.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest, and any other relief as the court deems just. He is represented by Spencer Aronfeld and Jonathan D. Carvajal of Aronfeld Trial Lawyers in Coral Gables.
