Goyard St-Honore files suit against alleged counterfeiters

FORT LAUDERDALE – A French luxury goods company alleges counterfeit versions of its products are being sold online.

Goyard St-Honore filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the cheapgoyardbaguk.net, cheaphydbaguk.com, francoisrepgoyard.com, et al., alleging trademark infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it suffered damages to its business and reputation from having its mark used on other products. The plaintiff holds cheapgoyardbaguk.net, cheaphydbaguk.com, francoisrepgoyard.com, et al., responsible because the defendants allegedly sell confusingly similar imitations of plaintiff's merchandise that have lesser quality than the original goods.

The plaintiff seeks enjoin the defendant, transfer all domain named used by the defendants to the plaintiff's control, pay all profits and damages, statutory damages in the amount of $2 million per counterfeit mark used, statutory damages of $100,000 per cybersquatted domain name used, all legal fees, interest and any other relief as the  court deems just. It is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, Virgilio Gigante and T. Raquel Rodriguez-Albizu of Stephen M. Gaffigan PA in Fort Lauderdale.
