Father accuses truck driver, Alanis Trucking Co. of negligence after crash

Car accident 28

OCALA – An Ocala man alleges he and his son were injured when a truck driver failed stop at a stop sign.

Christopher Roland Hayes, individually and as parent and natural guardian on behalf of A.C.H., a minor, filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the 5th Judicial Circuit Court - Marion County against Jose Manuel Morin and Alanis Trucking Co. LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs alleges that on Sep. 2, 2016, while driving his vehicle with his son as passenger, plaintiffs collided with the defendant's truck near the intersection in Northwest 47th Avenue. The plaintiffs hold the driver, Morin, and Alanis Trucking Co. LLC responsible because defendant Morin allegedly failed to fully stop at a stop sign and failed to give right-of-way, pulling in front of plaintiff's vehicle. As a result, father and son allegedly suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiffs requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for compensatory damages of more than $15,000 together with the fair market value of the plaintiff's vehicle on the date of its crash, plus costs and any other relief deemed appropriate. They are represented by William T. Allen, Tom L. Copeland and David Carlson of Allen Law Firm PA in Gainesville.
