Law money 07

FORT LAUDERDALE — A former employee is suing Aoki Kendall LLC, Bluetree Brickell LLC and Kevin Aoki, employer, citing alleged unpaid wages, violation of applicable minimum wage law and violation of workers compensation acts.

Joe Hiraki filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against the defendants, alleging that they failed to pay fair wages to him.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was paid as a tipped employee but was required to share his tips with others; that he was not properly compensated for overtime; and that he was not paid for his last week of work. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly violating various aspects of wage law and failing to pay him the amount agreed upon.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid compensation, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Robert W. Brock II of Law Office of Lowell J. Kuvin in Miami.
