Miami-Dade woman alleges Farm Stores failed to pay her overtime wages

Law money 05

MIAMI — A Miami-Dade County woman is suing citing a convenience store, citing alleged retaliation, unpaid wages, violation of workers compensation acts and wrongful termination.

Rafaela Antonia Flores filed a complaint on Feb. 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida Miami Division against Farm Food Store Inc., d/b/a Farm Stores, and Awan A. Mohd, her former employer, alleging that they failed to pay fair wages to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she worked for more than 40 hours per week at a store in Miami Gardens without being paid any overtime compensation. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly retaliated against the plaintiff by terminating her employment for complaining about not getting proper wages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory benefits, liquidated damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. She is represented by Allyson Morgado of Corona Law Firm, P.A. in Miami.
