MIAMI – A poker dealer alleges he was not paid a minimum wage.
Mark Casabo filed a complaint on Feb. 3 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against PPI Inc., doing business as Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park and also known as The Isle Casino and Racing at Pompano Park, citing the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he worked as a poker dealer and was not paid minimum wage during his employment. The plaintiff holds PPI Inc., doing business as Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park and also known as The Isle Casino and Racing at Pompano Park responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay minimum wages to the plaintiff and failed to follow the tip credit requirements of the FLSA.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, liquidated damages, all legal fees and any other relief as this court deems just. He is represented by Christopher J. Whitelock of Whitelock & Associates PA in Fort Lauderdale.
