Synergetic Communications alleged to have harassed woman with calls meant for another person

Late 05

MIAMI – A Miami consumer alleges she was harassed by frequent phone calls from a debt collector meant for another party.

Cristina Labreau filed a complaint on Jan. 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Miami Division against Synergetic Communications Inc. citing the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Consumer Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in 2014, she suffered damages from receiving several collection calls meant for Pedro Mendez. The plaintiff holds Synergetic Communications, Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly continued to call the plaintiff using an automatic telephone dialing system despite her informing the defendant it had the wrong number.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages, punitive damages, actual damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Amanda J. Allen and William Peerce Howard of The Consumer Protection Firm, PLLC in Tampa.
